NSW Education Department SBAR Video

The goal of the SBAR video was to effectively communicate the school-allocated budget for the year to all NSW schools and principals. Given the complexity of the content, the challenge was to simplify this information into engaging and accessible visuals that would resonate with the audience.
To address this challenge, we utilised our expertise in information design to transform intricate budget data into a visually compelling narrative. Our approach involved the following key steps:

  1. Content Simplification: We collaborated closely with the NSW Education Department to thoroughly understand the budget details. Our team distilled this complex information into essential points that needed to be communicated clearly
  2. Visual Design: The design focused on creating simple, clean visuals that effectively conveyed the necessary information. We combined 2D and flat stylised 3D elements to enhance visual interest while maintaining clarity.
  3. Engaging Animation: Using smooth animations, we brought the visuals to life, guiding viewers through the budget allocations in an engaging manner. This not only held the audience’s attention but also made the information easier to digest.

The final video was rolled out to all NSW schools, serving as a vital tool for informing staff and principals about budget changes for the year. The positive feedback highlighted its effectiveness in making complex financial information accessible and easy to understand.
By successfully combining 2D and stylised 3D visuals, the SBAR video exemplified our commitment to quality information design, transforming how important data can be shared within the educational community.

This project not only reinforced the importance of clear communication but also demonstrated the power of information design in educational contexts. We are proud to have contributed to enhancing understanding and engagement within the NSW Education Department.
